As park officials, we faced an uphill battle with the weather in early summer and refocused our efforts on projects and moving forward. We have turned our attention to improving this special place and preserving its history.
A lot of work has started on many buildings in the park, and we hope the support continues in 2010, as we look to paint, update windows, replace a roof and make this a better place for our visitors.
Building work will benefit summer day camp programs, Girl and Boy Scouts and much more.
Lake George operates on community investment through user fees and donations, receiving no direct tax dollars.
The park will hold its annual auction and spaghetti supper at 5p.m. Saturday at the Skowhegan Community Center and will launch its 2010 Annual Fund in early December. These fundraisers provide for the base of operating funds for the park and its programs.
Jeff McCabe, director
Lake George Regional Park
