Both of these events are family-oriented and provide an opportunity to celebrate in a safe and loving environment.
This year, we stopped first at the "Trunk or Treat" put on by Winslow Baptist at the Winslow Community Federal Credit Union and the children were offered literally vehicle trunks full of candy and treats, all creatively decorated. The youth pastor enthusiastically invited all to the church's many youth programs.
The Celebration Event at Calvary Temple this year featured not only a Waterville city firetruck complete with all the lights and a friendly firefighter to show all the bells and whistles, but a Delta ambulance with all the equipment and an emergency medical technician.
Additionally a hayride, a petting zoo, loads of delicious refreshments from hotdogs to sweets and beverages, and a pumpkin-carving in which the nature of God was told, a magic show, and many prizes were given out and the playground equipment was lit for all to enjoy all evening.
My thanks to all who take the time and the expense to plan and to deliver this wonderful opportunity to share love with God's children of all ages.
Lorelei Rackliff
