His team was ahead at halftime 56-0, and the final score being 56-8. That shows a great deal of sportsmanship being not only used but taught to his team.
I had two sons who played football at MCI, I saw firsthand how other teams and their coaches can exhibit very poor sportsmanship by running up the score or just losing a game. That teaches the players what?
I also read about another central Maine football game on the same weekend, whose coach showed a total lack of sportsmanship not only to his team, but the parents of the kids and the school.
The coach of any sport is supposed to be a mentor from whom the kids learn and they accept the actions of any mentor as acceptable behavior in society.
Anyway, true class and sportsmanship is alive and well for the MCI football program.
