I was very upset by the Commentary by Douglas Ganser on Monday, June 29, on chicken, and the presence of arsenic in chicken feed. No, upset is not the right word. I am angry. According to the commentary, arsenic fuels angiogenesis, which is a key part of cancer. Cancer. Is this why I got breast cancer? Is this why, in spite of all the attention, the breast cancer rate has gone up, not down? Remember when it was one in 10? Now it's one in eight. One in eight! And the FDA has approved the use of this additive, which is a Class A carcinogen. Is this going to be like asbestos in cigarettes? Hidden, legal, and deadly? There will be no chicken, or turkey, in my house until the stuff is safe. What about eggs? Where are your reporters, this is important stuff!
