Question 2 would have brought jobs and money to our state, but again, we blew it.
The opposition to this has not come up with a better way to produce jobs or bring in money to the state; why is that? If they think a casino is so bad, why do we have one in Bangor? You may say it's not one, but if it walks like a duck, looks like a duck and sounds like a duck, it's a duck.
Maybe if they wanted to put a "racino" in Oxford county, it would have passed.
I wonder how many people who voted against it buy lottery tickets or play Megabucks?
That's why the governors past and present are against it: because they are afraid it will cut into the revenue the state gets from the lottery. (Is this gambling?)
And guess what, people will still take their money to Foxwoods instead of Oxford. What a shame.
Maybe in the weeks to come, the opposition will bring forward its plan to bring jobs and money to the state of Maine. I look forward to seeing their proposal.
