They view how the Morning Sentinel is leaning left in politics. It's neither fair nor balanced, and is reluctant to print anything negative about Democrats but will place emphasis on Bush bashing or anything anti-Iraq.
Dave Geffen, billionaire, who spent nights in the Clinton White House, called Hillary a proficient liar and would never vote for her. The former president of the Virginia chapter of the ACLU has been charged with possessing child pornography. Then there's the sweetheart land deal Democratic Sen. Harry Reid handled. None of this was in the Morning Sentinel. I could go on and on.
It endorses Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, calling them moderates. They'll both play both sides of the aisle, with little given back in return. It's a good re-election ploy and gives them the Maine Democrat vote, but at a terrible price.
The phrase "RINO," Republican In Name Only, now surfaces often when their names are mentioned, you'll never hear this coming from the Sentinel. Why?
Many hoped that with the new leadership at the Sentinel, John Christie and Naomi Schalit would move to the center. Guess this isn't going to happen anytime soon.

In PA where my family lives it cost $56 a year to register a pickup truck, in Maine, it cost me $600. In PA my mother has a house in town with sewer and garbage pick up, local fire and police protection and her taxes on the property is $600/year. Here in Maine I live in a remote area without any of these things and I have to haul my own garbage 50 miles to the dump and my taxes are $1100+/year.
So I ask again what have the democrats done for Maine other then raise taxes.report abuse
Why bother to elect Republicans, that being the case? What's so wrong with your own party that you can't find decent candidates to field for public office?
Give me solid conservatism any day at all.report abuse
