Mainers sent 417 bikes to Katrina victims

Much appreciation and congratulations to all Mainers, organizations and businesses involved in the Bike for the Bayou project. (http://www.bikes 4thebayou.org).

On Dec. 20, the 417 bikes they collected, repaired and shipped to East Biloxi, Miss., were distributed to kids and adults in our community. With that generosity, they are bouncing back from their Hurricane Katrina devastation. They now have the freedom and mobility that bicycle transportation provides. Mainers have given them a way to have joy in their lives and move around East Biloxi. We are grateful for their love and hope they have a wonderful holiday season. We ask that they please support Bikes for the Bayou in their quest and send us more bikes.
