Bush's ruthless war devastates U.S.

The final report on the search for "weapons of mass destruction," which Bush used as the excuse for his war, concluded that there were absolutely no such weapons in Iraq, nor any evidence of programs to develop them. Bush continually lied, insisting these weapons existed in massive quantities. Anyone who believed these false claims, which evidence clearly shows Bush and his henchmen knew were lies, was either uninformed, biased, irrational, gullible or worse. Meanwhile, the real threats to our security, Iran and North Korea, are becoming nuclear powers. Since the United States all but abandoned Afghanistan to attack Iraq, violence there has intensified, costing the lives of U.S. troops and others. Our nation's standing has never been lower; the threat to our national security has seldom been greater. Bush's pursuit of power and greed continues to be an unmitigated disaster for our country. He is an unprincipled despot. This Memorial Day, let us all remember the victims of this corrupt and ruthless president's war. Bush's supporters should also take the time to seek forgiveness for being his collaborators. Evil can never be justified. James Marine Waterville |
