Outlook: With 25 freshmen girls coming out, the Black Raiders will field a deep team. Winslow finished second in the KVAC B in the indoor season, and Carey hopes that success will carry over to the spring. Bouchard, Fedus and Bertolacinni are poised for strong seasons as well.
Coach's comment: "I've never had this many options. A bunch of our newcomers will be scoring points right off."

Outlook: Cassidy and Levesque give the Black Raiders some talented distance runners. A strong incoming class should help Winslow challenge Waterville for league supremacy. Winslow had 53 boys come out this spring, which doubled last season's total. LeClair and Souviney are coming off strong indoor seasons as well.
Coach's comment: "We'll be there. We'll be competitive. We have the core coming back from our indoor team. We match up well with anybody."
Baseball
Coach: Robin Weed (15th season)
Last season: 8-8 in Eastern B

Outlook: The Black Raiders missed the playoffs for the first time in Weed's tenure as coach last season, but with a number of experienced players back, Winslow should contend for a spot in the tournament. Siviski hit nine triples last season, and he and McLean return to the mound. Kevin Martin, Nate Martin and Nivison are also top returning hitters.
Coach's comment: "We have a great nucleus back. We should be competitive and in all our games."
Terry Parlin resigned after four seasons at Winslow to take the job at Thomas College. He still left some quality players behind for "new" coach Steve Blood, who has coached the Black Raiders in two previous stints.
Boys tennis
Coach: David Deas (2nd season)
Last season: 1-11

Outlook: Winslow lost a number of players to graduation, but has 18 players on the roster this spring. DuPuis, McCann and exchange student Villatoro-Rodriguez will play singles for the Black Raiders.
Coach's comment: "We've got a good turnout. It's a brand new group with lots of enthusiasm. We are a no cut program so we want everyone to participate."

Outlook: In only the second year as a varsity sport, 26 girls are out for the team this spring. Fifteen of those players are new to the sport and will spend the season learning the game. Fowler and Walter both return to provide leadership as singles players.
Coach's comment: "All of the girls who are returning have shown such a dramatic improvement from a year ago. "
SOFTBALL
Coach: Steve Blood (1st season)
Last season: 16-4, made Eastern B final

Outlook: This is Blood's third go-round as coach of the Black Raiders, and he won state titles at some point in each of the previous two. Winslow has a young team, but there is still enough talent to compete, and Blood has a great record in developing young players.
Coach's comment: "I think we're going to get good pitching, and I think we're going to get good defense. Hopefully, we'll score some runs."
