Outlook: The Purple Panthers are poised to win their third consecutive state championship. Tuttle has her sights set on beating the state record in the triple jump, and she may run the 300 hurdles as well. Fossa is one of the top throwers in the state, and the team is strong in both the distance and middle-distance events as well.
Coach's comment: "The girls have the potential to be the best team I've ever coached here. We have events covered. We're a very deep team."

Waterville features 63 boys, which gives it an incredible amount of depth. Gurski is a state champ in the javelin. The return of Ian Rowe also gives the team two talented pole vaulters as well.
Coach's comment: "We have strength in numbers and quality. We have the potential to be an awesome team."

Outlook: The Panthers return the bulk of last season's 11-win sqaud, including four pitchers who combined for 113 innings and all 11 wins last season. Chaput is back behind the plate and is one of the top players in the KVAC. Sawyer led the team with 18 stolen bases last year and will be back in the leadoff spot.
Coach's comment: "You've got to give it to these kids. They've worked hard."

Outlook: Waterville graduate five seniors from last year's team. Breton, White and Boyle will fill the singles spots for the Panthers. Waterville's roster is young, but five sophomores have shown promise so far.
Coach's comment: "I would say it is a transition year. I thought I was going to have six seniors this season but only three have come out."
Girls tennis

Top returners: Katie Jacobs (Sr.), Katherine Batten (Sr.), Alex McAuliff (Sr.), Jennifer Nale (Jr.), Kelsie Stevens (Sr.), Lexi Russo (So.), Trisha Labbe (Sr.), Grace Violette (Jr.)
Key newcomers: Alexa Oliviera (Jr.), Nikki Shanos (Jr.)
Outlook: This Purple Panther team returns five of the seven starters from a team that made a deep playoff run a year ago. Nale and Batten will challenge each other for the No. 1 singles spot while McAuliff will probably play No. 3. Russo, Oliviera and Shanos will contribute in doubles competition.
Coach's comment: "I think something missing last year was that sometimes we got tight in a nervous situation. I think we are better at that this year. I think we will be very strong this year. Camden and Belfast usually give us a run for our money."
