Last season: 12th in Western C
Top returners: Jordan Leathers (Jr.), Chris Beam (Jr.), Seth Stevens (So.)
Key newcomers: not available at presstime
Outlook: The Cavaliers hadn't started practice at presstime. Valley doesn't have a lot of numbers and lost a few athletes to graduation and transfer.
Coach's comment: "We just want to improve every meet. These kids, most of them are in their first or second year running at any level."

Coach: Luke Hartwell (2nd season)
Last season: 7th at Western C
Top returners: Jocelyn Laweryson (So.), Alyssa Vitalone (Sr.), Cindy Schultz (So.), Shannon Rich (So.).
Key newcomers: Not available at press time
Outlook: Laweryson is one of the top returning runners in Western Maine Class C. She finished seventh at the championship meet last season.
Coach's comment: "Competing at a higher level (in Class C), the competition is a lot tougher and we were so young for the most part. Jocelyn and Shannon should be much better this year."

Outlook: Valley continues to improve following a season that feature a number of close games, last year. A strong defense and midfield return to bolster the teams efforts to climb over the .500 mark this time around.
Coach's comment: "This season looks very promising. After a few close games last year, we learned that while our defense is strong our offense needs work. This season we plan to capitalize on our scoring opportunities and advance all the way through playoffs."

Outlook: Valley continues to grow its soccer program with a sizeable turnout this season. The Cavaliers will strive to hit the .500 mark with a mixture of experience and youth. Defense will be a key to success this season.
Coaches comment: "Our goal is to try to improve our fitness and our understanding of the game of soccer. If we can do this and mature as a team I think we might be able to add to last years win total a little bit. We have a lot of good athletes trying soccer for the first time, so it should be an exciting year."
