FARMINGTON -- The University of Maine at Farmington scored three times in the opening 15 minutes to earn a 5-0 win over Rivier College in North Atlantic Conference field hockey action Sunday.
Hattie Agnew scored two goals for the Beavers (8-6, 5-1) while Alyssa St. Pierre, Emma Deans and Winthrop graduate Jessica Martin scored one goal each. Sarah Brown, Kristi Geaumont and Cony grad Felisha Taylor combined to make four saves.
Jenna Beadle stopped 22 shots for Rivier (2-10, 0-7).
Castleton State 5, Thomas 1: Kealy Chipman and Marie Amaral each scored twice to led the Spartans to the win in Waterville. Courtney Nolan and Jessica Scott also scored for Castleton St.
Maranacook graduate Ally Kennedy scored the goal for Thomas (4-12, 2-5 NAC) off an assist from Winslow High graduate Ali Kriegel.
Men's soccer
Husson 6, UMF 0: John DeStefano scored two goals to lead the host Eagles to the NAC win.
Alex Martin, Tyler Metevier, James Crackford and Gavin Madden scored a goal apiece for the Eagles (8-8-2, 5-0-2). Paul Dupre stopped four shots.
Erik Corcoran made 12 saves for the Beavers.
Women's soccer
Husson 4, UMF 0: Alex Laniewski scored two goals as the Eagles won in Bangor.
Shelby Bradford and Meg Clement also scored for Husson (13-5-0, 6-1-0). Jen Plourde made two saves.
UMF (7-9-1, 3-3-1) keeper Mckell Barnes stopped 12 shots.
Maine 3, Albany 2: Laura Martel scored the game-winning goal as the Black Bears won on the road.
Maddie Hill and Carolyne Nellis also scored for Maine (8-5-2, 5-2-1 America East). Megan Price-Leibenzeder made six saves.
Chelsea DeVerna and Ashley Trabassi scored for Albany (8-8-1, 3-3-1). Cate Crenson stopped four shots.
Also:Lawrence High School graduate Katye Mayo made one save as the St. Joseph's women's soccer team defeated Rivier College 2-1.
