WATERVILLE -- In a wild game with 25 runs and 14 extra-base hits, Madison held off Waterville 14-11 to win the American Legion baseball finale for both teams Wednesday.
Madison (9-11) clinched a home playoff game with the win, and will host Messalonskee at 4 p.m. today. The 39ers had nine doubles, including three by John Little and two by Matt Hisler. Little, Marcus Morin and Cody Vigue each drove in two runs.
For Waterville (12-8), which scored seven runs in the bottom of the seventh, Cameron Sawyer and Tim Locke each had two RBIs.
Messalonskee 1, Franklin County 0: Nick Booth scored on an error in the bottom of the sixth inning as the Eagles won a pitchers' duel in Waterville.
Phil Cormier tossed a three-hit shutout for Messalonskee (9-11). Cormier struck out three and walked none. Ben Ladd also threw a three-hitter and was the tough-luck loser for Franklin (7-13). Franklin's Bobby Duley doubled for the only extra-base hit.

Portland 13, Mid Coast South 1, 5 innings: Nick Volger and Luke Boyle each had two singles as Portland won to advance to the winner's bracket in Skowhegan.
Kyle Reichart added a single and a double for Portland, which moves on to play Biddeford at 5:30 p.m. today. Mid Coast South will play in the loser's bracket at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
Tri-County West 11, Somerset 3: Cody St. Germain had three singles and a double as Tri-County West advanced to the winner's bracket in Skowhegan. Jordan Croteau and Ryan Nichols each added two singles for Tri-County West, which advances to play Augusta at 2:30 p.m. today.
Kameron Nelson and Grant Benson each had a single for Somerset, which will play in the loser's bracket at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Scarborough 6, Mid Coast North 1: Matt MacDowell pitched a three-hitter as Scarborough moved into the winner's bracket in Westbrook.
Scarborough advances to play Saco Bay at 5:30 p.m. today. Mid Coast North will play in the loser's bracket at 2:30 p.m. Friday.
Westbrook vs. Franklin County suspended: Westbrook held a 2-1 lead against Franklin County when the game was suspended due to rain in the fifth inning.
The game is scheduled to resume at noon today.

Westbrook 11, Mid Coast North 0, 5 innings: Scott Heath pitched five innings, allowing three hits, while striking out 11, walking two and hitting one as Westbrook cruised to a win in Augusta.
Heath added two singles for Westbrook, which advanced to play Bonny Eagle in the tournament's winner's bracket today at 5:15 p.m. at Morton Field in Augusta.
Mid Coast North falls into the loser's bracket and will play Tri-County West at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at McGuire Field.
Augusta 11, Tri-County West 7: Corey Lapierre drove in three runs and both Ryan Leach and Luke Duncklee scored three runs Augusta picked up a win in Augusta.
Leach earned the win, pitching three shutout innings for Augusta, which advances to play Apple Valley today.
