Monsulick finished second with a time of 21 minutes, 01.5 seconds, behind Medomak Valley's Kasey Eaton, who finished in 20:37.7. Maranacook scored 50 points, finishing five points ahead of Leavitt (55) and six ahead of Medomak Valley (56).
"As a team we were really hoping to win, but we were missing our third girl, so we knew it would be hard," Monsulick said. "Everyone had to have a great race. As an individual, I was going to run as fast as I could for my team."
Maranacook won despite missing Jillian Blouin, who usually finishes third or fourth for the Black Bears. Blouin was in New York on a school trip.
The Maranacook boys finished third behind a second-place finish from Jacob Knox, who ran the course in 17:34. Medomak Valley won the boys race with 48 points, followed by Leavitt (65) and Maranacook (87).
Mohamed Noor won the invididual Class A boys title with a time of 16:37.7 to lead Lewiston to the boys title. Mt. Blue finished second with 87 points and Brunswick (93). Cony High School's Luke Fontaine finished fourth in the Class A boys race with a time of 17:08.6 as the Rams placed sixth.
Mt. Blue High School's Silver Hunt won the Class A girls race with a time of 20:34.9 and Brunswick won the Class A team title with 33 points. For the Cony girls, Morgan Beede finished fifth as the Rams took fifth.
Monsulick said she started the race slower than the lead pack but was able to catch up about a mile in and settle into second place.
"That's what I usually try to do," Monsulick said. "We were probably a mile and a half and that is when I feel into my spot in second place."
Also for Maranacook, Taylor Burr finished fourth with a time of 21:36.5 and Emily Harriman finished 10th at 21:55.8. Catherine Nurse took 12th at 23:04.9 and Ashley Thompson was 22nd at 24:06.1.
"We knew today we had to work really hard to beat Leavitt and Medomak Valley," Maranacook coach Rosalea Kimball said.
For the Maranacook boys, Tucker Mitchell finished 14th with a time of 18:44 and Jutin Greely was 21st at 19:26.
"I told the boys if they finished third, I'd be extremely happy," Kimball said. "I'm extremely happy."
