AUBURN -- Sam Gifford scored five goals as Skowhegan rolled to a 7-0 victory against Edward Little in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A field hockey action Tuesday afternoon.

Skowhegan also got goals from Mallory Hancock (two assists) and Becky Pratt. The Indians finished with 30 shots on goal, forcing goalkeeper Kayla Cummings to make 20 saves.

Megan Hancock made two saves and Sam Gray one for Skowhegan (6-1-0). EL, which was ranked first in Eastern A in the Heal points released Tuesday, is 3-3-1.

LAWRENCE 2, MT. ARARAT 1: Molly Cooper scored a goal with 13 minutes, 25 seconds to play as Lawrence won in KVAC A play in Topsham.

While Mt. Ararat (1-4-0) scored first, the Bulldogs tied the score at 1 with 11:30 to play before halftime on Caitlin LaPorte's goal, assisted by Nicole Guimond and Brandy Armour.

Jordan Carter made five saves for Lawrence (4-2-0). Molly Hayes finished with 14 saves in the loss.

WATERVILLE 2, OAK HILL 1: Freshman Sara Walker scored the game-winner with two seconds left in the first half off a pass from Chanelle Lansley as the host Purple Panthers edged the Raiders in KVAC Class B play.

Danielle Fossa had the other goal for Waterville (3-2-0), with Brittany Locke providing the assist.

Ashley Paradis tied the score for Oak Hill off a pass from Kayla Clark.

Kristin Tormollan made 10 saves for Waterville, while Brittany Wood had 14 for Oak Hill (2-4-0).

MT. BLUE 1, HAMPDEN 0: Kyle Cyr popped a shot in front of the goalie after a scramble in front of the cage, and Kelsey Frechette knocked it in to give the visiting Cougars the KVAC Class A win.

Mt. Blue had a 26-3 advantage in shots. The Cougars are 5-1-0 while Hampden is 0-4-1.

MARANACOOK 3, NOKOMIS 0: Hayley Pierce scored twice to lead the Black Bears to the KVAC Class B win in Newport.

Tia Levins had the other goal for Maranacook (6-1-0). Zoie Kaley added two assists. Darcy Wilkins and Kendra Zarella combined to make 16 saves.

Beth Flanders stopped eight shots for Nokomis (4-3-0).

LEAVITT 2, ERSKINE 0: Courtney Erskine had a hand in each goal as the Hornets earned the KVAC Class B win in South China.

Erskine scored a goal off an assist from Brianna Dostie and then assisted a goal by Heidi Swift. Jen Vallee made one save for Leavitt (5-1-0). Beth Belanger and Ashley Richardson combined to make eight saves for Erskine (2-4-0).
