A NICE DEBUT: Maine quarterback Chris Treister completed 40 of 46 passes for 468 yards and five touchdowns during a 41-17 win last week against Rhode Island. He rushed for another score in his first collegiate start. Treister and the Black Bears play at noon today at No. 9 New Hampshire.

WATERVILLE — Julianne Kowalski had a double-double and Diana Manduca scored 10 points as the Colby College women’s basketball team earned a 61-45 win against Vassar College in the opening round of the Colby Tournament on Friday.
