FARMINGTON -- A three-car pile-up on Broadway Friday that sent one driver to the hospital was the second accident in the same location in two days.
The mid-afternoon crash occurred in front of Turner's Tender Cuts barber shop.
According to Farmington police Officer Matt Brann, Debra Cook, 43, of Farmington, was heading east when she stopped her Pontiac Grand Prix sedan in traffic to turn left into a driveway near the Sugar Wood Gallery.
Behind her, a Dodge Durango sport-utility vehicle, operated by Shelley Deane, 46, of Farmington had also stopped, Brann said.
But a third car, operated by Keith Burns, 19, of Anson, bumped into the rear of the SUV.
"Deane panicked and hit the gas and hit the rear of the Pontiac," Brann said.
Cook complained of neck pain and was checked out by medical personnel from NorthStar EMS but was taken by private vehicle to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington, Brann said.
The cars were all able to be driven from the scene and all the drivers were wearing seat belts, he said.
An accident Thursday at the same location occurred when a driver backed out of a diagonal parking space and was stuck in the rear by an oncoming car, Brann said.
