SKOWHEGAN -- Police have arrested two local men in connection with burglary and theft at Folsom & Sons in which $6,000 worth of tools and a dozen inspection stickers were taken.

Robert Marshall, 22, of 1123 Lakewood Road in Madison, and Dustin Page, 19, of 3 Family Circle in Skowhegan, were charged Wednesday with felony burglary and theft, as well as a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief, police said.

Deputy Police Chief Rick Bonneau said citizens provided vital information that led to the arrest of the pair by officers Kelly Hooper and Don Avery.

Bonneau said Folsom & Sons, located on the Rowe Road in Skowhegan, on Aug. 22 reported a burglary with forced entry in which 12 inspection stickers were reported missing, with more than $6,000 worth of Snap-on Tools.

"Some of the stolen tools have been recovered," Bonneau said. He said police will be watching for the stolen inspection stickers to show up on vehicles during regular traffic stops and information provided by community members.

Displaying a fictitious inspection sticker is a Class E misdemeanor. In this case, an additional charge of receiving stolen property would apply, also a Class E misdemeanor, Bonneau said.

Anyone who might have received one of these stolen inspection stickers is encouraged to contact Officer Hooper, at 474-6908, to avoid criminal prosecution.
