The single is produced by Wyshmaster, which does work for Nelly, St. Lunatics, Hotstylz and Ashanti.
"I actually made the product a year ago," Wyshmaster said in a phone interview. "I had a vision for it to be a big single. It just had that radio feel to it. I got hold of it and said that it's going to be a huge single."
Greene wrote the lyrics for the record, which he describes as a feel-good song.
"It's a club record," he said. "It's pretty much telling a girl how important she is -- she's like your water."
Greene, 25, has appeared for the last few weeks in episodes of the reality show, "Living Lohan," which airs Sunday nights on the E! network and features Lindsay Lohan's family, including her mother, Dina, and sister, Ali.
Greene's photo and a blurb about his single, "Rain," also are in this week's edition of "Life & Style" magazine, although Greene notes that the story has an incorrect date for the single release. The actual date was Tuesday, he said.
The magazine story reports that Greene is producing an album that aspiring singer Heidi Montag, 21, is working on. Greene co-founded 3 A.M. Music Group with Spencer Pratt, Montag's beau, according to Greene.
