The complaint was filed just before 3 p.m. Wednesday at Messalonskee Middle School, but Oakland police Detective Rick Stubbert said the alleged assault did not happen at the school or on school property.
"It's a juvenile case and it's under investigation," Stubbert said. "I can't tell you much more because the victim is a juvenile. It happened in Oakland."
The case is being handled by Harold Dusty Woodside, the middle-school resource officer. Woodside was a detective who handled juvenile and sexual-assault cases for the Waterville Police Department for many years before going to Oakland.
IN WATERVILLE, Thursday at 9:25 a.m., a theft was reported on Prospect street at Main Street.
2 a.m., a domestic dispute was reported on Kelsey Street.
12:51 a.m., medical personnel went to Midnight Blues for a man with an allergic reaction. The man later was arrested at the hospital on two warrants for unpaid fines, police said.
Wednesday at 6:47 p.m., a case of threatening was reported on Belmont Avenue.
2:23 p.m., a theft was reported on High Street.
1:37 p.m., harassment was reported on Summer Street.
1:02 p.m., a theft was reported on Main Street.
IN WINSLOW, Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., a burglary of a motor vehicle was reported on Smiley Avenue
6:46 p.m., a burglary and theft were reported on Smiley Avenue.
10:30 a.m., a student was to press sexual harassment charges against another student.
6:15 a.m., a person known to local police said he had information on cars being entered overnight in the area of Smiley Avenue, Goodrich Drive and Frankwood drive.
IN OAKLAND, Wednesday at 5:58 p.m., a fight was reported near Buddies on Main Street.
3:28 p.m., criminal trespass was reported on Main Street.
IN FAIRFIELD, Wednesday at 8:30 a.m., a search warrant for drugs was carried out on Hardwood Lane, resulting in two arrests, one of them a 16-year-old.
IN SKOWHEGAN, Thursday at 5:29 a.m., a caller reported a chocolate Labrador retriever stuck in a brook on Back Road. Caller said it had been there all night and the caller had just checked on the noise this morning. Authorities learned the dog owner had the dog and was taking care of it.
Wednesday at 8:21 a.m., police investigated a report of assault at Rite Aid on Jewett Street and later at McDonald's Restaurant on Madison Avenue and on Bennett Avenue.
4:17 p.m., police investigated a report of a disturbance on Madison Avenue. Later, in connection with this call, police went to Redington-Fairview General Hospital where a woman was reported destroying property and assaulting the staff. No weapons were involved.
10:49 a.m., police investigated a report of theft of an item outside Angelo's Pizza on Waterville Road.
IN HARTLAND, Wednesday at 3:15 p.m., deputies investigated report of an assault on Water Street.
IN MADISON, Wednesday at 3:40 p.m., police investigated a reported theft on Lakewood Road.
IN NORRIDGEWOCK, Wednesday at 1:21 p.m., a Skowhegan Road resident reported a theft.
IN PITTSFIELD, Wednesday at 5:53 p.m., police investigated a report of theft on Harriet Street.
IN SOLON, Wednesday at 5:01 p.m., police investigated report of an assault on McCarty Road.
FIRE LOG
IN ATHENS, Wednesday at 8:03 p.m., firefighters investigated report of a structure fire on the Vernal Huff Road. Smoke was reported coming from a mobile home. There was no fire and fire units were canceled.
Arrests
IN WATERVILLE, Thursday at 2:20 a.m., Daniel Elliott, 34, of Smithfield, was arrested at Inland Hospital on two warrants.
12:23 a.m., Scott Leo, 19, of Oakland, was arrested on Oakland Street on a probation hold.
Wednesday at 10:31 p.m., Billy Bridgmon, 42, of Fairfield, was arrested on Elm Street on a charge of operating without a license.
5:30 p.m., Jason Michaud, 44, of Fairfield, was arrested by Clinton police on Center Road, Fairfield, and processed in Waterville on a violation of a protection order.
3:48 p.m., Lucien Brooks, 39, was arrested on Elm Street on a probation hold.
IN FAIRFIELD, Wednesday at 8:30 a.m., Tara Pelletier, 26, of Fairfield, was arrested on a search warrant at her home on Hardwood Lane on possession of hydrocodone, cocaine and Suboxone, along with paraphernalia and scales.
