Norridgewock Fire Chief David Jones said damage was contained to one end of the large metal building that is home to Brown's Welding & Steel.
Dan Brown of North Anson, who owns the steel sales and fabrication business, should be able to continue relatively interruption-free once electricity is restored, Jones said Sunday.
"He'll have to do some rebuilding, but he can go work (today) and continue doing business there," Jones said.
The fire was contained to an area around a large wood furnace, but the cause remains unclear, Jones said.
The wood furnace or an electrical malfunction in nearby wires likely sparked the blaze, Jones said.
"There's nothing suspicious," he said.
Firefighters spent nearly five hours at the scene, which is across from Maine Forestry Building.
"It didn't take long to knock it down, but getting access to the fire was the biggest problem," Jones said.
Access was hampered by overhead roll doors that were locked down, Jones said.
"It's a steel warehouse," Jones said. "It's full of steel, and getting around that in the thick, black smoke was pretty tough."
Saturday's fire was the third at the site in the past 15 years, Jones said.
The building was replaced after the first and part of the structure had to be rebuilt years later after a second blaze, Jones said.
