ISO New England said Sunday that system conditions in Maine have resulted in a capacity deficiency, creating a need for Mainers to conserve electricity through Sunday night.
Consumers are being asked to reduce their electricity use by shutting off unnecessary lights and electrical appliances and putting off activities such as laundry and dishwashing.

Build another nuclear power plant right beside it. And on the next plot over, build an oil refinery.
We could keep more of the money in the state of Maine with this. Right now, all the money for oil refining goes out of state, because that's where it is happening.
Anytime someone develops a plan to do anything, the environmental nazis jump all over it. You can't do this. You can't do that. That will damage this. Some frog won't have a pond to swim in.
A plan can be developed to do almost anything, and mitigate or offset the damage to the environment. We should sit down and work something out instead of fighting over what we can't do. report abuse
