Head Explorer Advisor Todd Burbank, who also is the South End police officer, says unwrapped donations of toys, clothes, stuffed animals and other items will be appreciated.
The Explorers are a group of youths aged 14 to 20 who are exploring careers in public safety and the fire service.
Wetlands group
meets Tuesday
CHINA -- The wetlands study committee meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Town Office.
Consultant Curtis Bohlen is scheduled to present his final report on selected wetlands he assessed around China Lake.
The next step for committee members is to try to find grant money and other resources to study how the wetlands are functioning.
Interested residents are welcome at all wetlands committee meetings.
Linc Club relocates
to State Street
AUGUSTA -- A social club serving people with mental illnesses has moved to the former state Bureau of Motor Vehicles building on State Street, organization officials said.
The Linc Club permanently moved on Nov. 17 from its former location on Green Street to the State Street building where drivers in the past have renewed their licenses or auto registrations, Linc Club representative Dee Nilsen said.
The club is open every day except Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and open until 7 p.m. on Fridays, Nilsen said, and everyone is welcome.
Committee to discuss
land use Monday
CHINA -- Comprehensive Planning Committee members will continue discussion of recommendations on land use at Monday's [Dec. 3] meeting, which begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Town Office.
