The local contractor worked on our road for free because the town did not want to grade it, yes they have done it twice this year already, our road is the rome road. They are more worried about the community center, can not wait to move out of mercer. I am 51, most screwed up town I have ever lived inreport abuse

Shaker of Norridgewock, ME Did we really need an overlay on 295? How about the overtime being spent there what a waste of money. DOT figured people would see it and that would make it better. Very little of this money has gone to local roads and most of that money has gone to Augusta South or Bangor West to Bar Habour. They are not even letting us know about the cut in local road assistance so that local towns can maintain State Aid roads in the winter.
I would think it would be smarter to allocate a portion of the stimulus money to help offset the burden to the taxpayers in local road areas.report abuse
