Dump the landline & go cell all the way. Verizon just took over from Uni-Cell and the cell phone used for the internet connection (broadband modem)) is AWESOME! Lightning fast & reliable. You can transfer your house phone number to the cell for free, have your house phone number with you everywhere, & get on-line anywhere with the laptop.

There is NO REASON to be tethered to a landline these days.
