You are on target. Cut the welfare, cut the school budgets and keep the cops out of our cars. If you don't need a helmet on a motorcycle why are we wearing seat belts. "Let those who drive decide". Its all a scam to get money. How about a citizen's bill to repeal some of these foolish laws?report abuse

felix of Canaan, ME I guess some folks feel that new laws have to be written to get some nitwits to start using a tiny bit of common sense. I'm usually the passenger rather than the driver so I get to see all these stupid people driving. 3 out of 5 people are using a cell phone while driving...are the calls THAT important that they can't talk on the phone when they are at home??? What about the idiots that don't have enough hands to use their directionals while they are talking on their cell phone.
And speaking of stupid people....those that ride with their dogs on their lap are among the top of the dumbest list!!! Don't they even think what will happen to them never mind their dog if they get in an accident???
Sure Laws are made to protect people but who's going to enforce these laws? Its a rare thing to see any kind of law enforcement around here! I do have to say tho that the few cops I've seen around here are at least smart enough to pull off the road when they are on their phones.report abuse

rapidreader of oakland, ME law enforcement today is above the law not with it above it....they shouldnt be allwoed to operate and use cell phones no more then the general public,i see what is fair is fair...how do we know its business???cause they say it is..yeah ok...as for seatbelt laws the law says we have to wear them but notice all the school buses ,you know the ones bussing innocent little kids to school..tell me they dont ever wreck..wheres the seatbelt law there..do you mean if i cram 40 plus kids in my car we dont have to wear seatbelts???report abuse
