For example, there is no reason for Maine state government to have an internal car rental division as part of DAFS. This not only makes government a competitor with car rental companies in Maine, it's using our tax dollars for something which should be a private-sector job. In addition, the payroll for those state employees working at this car rental division are earning way more than the current fair market value for Maine.
Hence, the 10+ overpaid positions within the Maine Fleet Services department should be cut from state government. Our Maine taxpayers and the car rental companies all deserve this type of cut. While there are other similar cuts potentially available, the public deserves more time to review & discuss these REAL OPTIONS with Appropriations. It's really quite simple, government should not do what the private-sector is here for.report abuse

Can I be any clearer?
The Maine Forest Service, The Natural Resources Council of Maine, Forest Inventory Program, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Education , the Department of Conservation are all excellent choices for an across the board cut of 50%!
Lets do more with less!report abuse
