You money guzzling realtors have priced homes right out of the sensible market into deep outer space, been doing this since the advent of big real estate in central Maine, about 1970ish? Not many big homes in central Maine worth anything sensibly over $100,000.00. Most available real estate should go for easily between $20-45,000 for the everyday man.
Even that's a stretch.
To repeat New York...nuff said.
NOT much to envision here. The real estate market priced itself out of business, practically put. Times, they ARE a-changin'.report abuse
A house sale should involve the buyer, seller and a known and knowledgeable real estate attorney...Period.
Paying 6% to someone to 'show' you houses is insane...The only troubles I had in my home purchases/sales involved lies the realtor told...
Never again will I use their services...Seems to me it's a job where they make $$$ off everyone for doing nothing but being a 'tour guide'...
Eliminate the realtor and home prices decrease...That works for me...
Seems everyday there is a crybaby story in this newspaper...I read months ago that the mortgage crisis didn't effect Maine because the lenders didn't take risky loans...NEWSFLASH~the mortgage crisis is one of the causes of the global meltdown...Greedy thieves are no longer able to hide behind a profession...Realtors made a fortune in the past few years, time to find another avenue to fill your pockets...The gravy train has come to a screeching halt...
When a 'camp' built in 1910 that's bearly standing is offered by a realtor for hundreds of thousands but is assessed for tens of thousands, who is responsible for the mismatch in numbers??? Wake up people and do the math...
Just like pharmacies, gas stations and coffee shops, there are too many realtors. Time to eliminate the 'fluff' and get back to a market that is sustainable and affordable by all Americans...This housing market did not allow many to live the American Dream, it caused these people to have to live through the nightmare of foreclosure and bankruptcy...
Nuff said :)report abuse
