In reaction, the House Republican leadership is sending a letter today to Pelosi to object to changes to House Rules this week that would bar Republicans from offering alternative bills, amendments to Democrat bills or even the guarantee of open debate accessible by motions to recommit for any piece of legislation during the entire 111th Congress.

My original point was that I will not give a politician, Obama included, my undying trust and loyality until he or she earns it. I stand by that belief. Obama's ability to remain charismatic while dodging hard questions is a quality that those with political aspirations would kill for. Perhaps his lack of experience will be a plus. We don't know, do we. Unlike the author of this OP-ED piece, I have hope but not blind hope. I am not afraid to stand on that belief.report abuse
