A mixed stocking, it seems.

Brian and Successful, just TRY to find something NOT made in China! I too wish we could buy American, and if I see something I want for a gift, if it's made in the USA I will almost certainly buy it. Down here in Kentucky, Wal-Mart had their Christmas stuff out well before Hallowe'en, for goodness' sake. We totally MISSED Thanksgiving! I expect next year, they'll combine the Back To School sales with the Christmas sales in August.

Too much! Yet everyone complains about it while they're filling their shopping carts.

I'm sorry to hear that Marden's has become Macy's of Waterville...report abuse

mardens is no different then any other chains in there prices these days...you actually can buy things cheaper at your big chain stores then mardens...since they have taken over the former walmart building,I havent seen a bargain in the store in quite awhile..I purchased something at the store only to bring it back when a big chain store had something of much better quality for less money...so all those shoppers of mardens may wanna rethink it...but christmas is all about retail and they are leaving the true meaning of it out the door these days..if the stores wanna see a change in the way we shop, put the items out there 1 month before christmas not 4 months before...its so ridiculous, how can one store tell if the shoppers 4 months before christmas are regular shoppers or christmas shoppers????report abuse

This is what Christmas is really all about, isn't it? The merchants making or losing money!!

The stores have a lot of junk that customers are not interested in. Clothes that aren't practicle, poorly manucactured and just plain trashy. The same with other products, more junk from China. Where is all the merchandise from the USA?

Get back to basics and learn what the customer wants and you will see business pick up.

As for Marden's, it has become very expensive to shop there. It is almost like going to Macy's. A lot of the stores mark their prices up just before a planned sale, than they send out flyer's claiming they are having a "Blow Out Sale". Customers are getting wise to the marketing tatics.

Stores that are going out of business always mark their prices up, then claim they are having a 50% clearance sale. WATCH OUT FOR THOSE GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALES, THEY AREN'T SALES AT ALL.

YOU WANT TO ATTRACT COSTOMERS TO YOUR STORE...STOCK QUALITY MERCHANDISE AT REASONABLE PRICES!!!report abuse
