The hoarding of pets in New Portland is still going on...

I have seen the state out there a few times, but they haven't taken out any more animals since the last 46 dogs that was confiscated before...

These owners themselves need care, and should be in a facility, never mind the poor neglected pets.report abuse

The very few Maine people i have found to excellent people are mainers who care for pets. Dont EVER think i am making fun of you when i call Mainers a bunch of s--bagsreport abuse

Duplication of effort may not be the best way here; how about consolidating animal control along the lines of Maine's probate districts and counties? It'd cut down the number of people involved, save cities and towns money, and yet would not diminish the role of the animal control officers. I mean, does Kennebec County really need 21? Couldn't 1 do it just as well?report abuse
