1. California is much bigger than just SoCal. There are plenty of places in CA where the leaves and snow fall.

2. Some of us don't need inclement weather conditions to be able to be thankful, observe tradition, and enjoy friends and family.

3. In Southern California, they are thankful that one needn't suffer through 8 months of darkness and ice.

4. This piece is just more Puritanism, making the most of something less than desirable - like eating pigs feet or collared greens.

I'm glad you are happy with your retreat to the tundra. But frankly, your smug condescension toward people "from away" is shining through.

Or, to put it in laymans terms, 'you can't polish a turd.' But you can sure write an article about it.report abuse
