Me wunders wy they be cuttin edumacation muney.

Don't get me wrong. I think we need to save money where we can, especially with the big spenders we have in Augusta. However, we need to be careful where we cut. This is certainly not where we should be making cuts.report abuse

Where are the cuts for the Department of Ed. itself? I find it frustrating that the State told schools to consolidate to cut costs but the Dept of Ed seemingly does little to cut costs. I'd like to know what the Office of Certification does to deserve my $100 for a teaching license when my school does all the work.report abuse

Is education the only program being hit with cuts? Why not look at paring down on teacher & administrator insurance benefits then. The working class have been hit with higher premiums and lower benefits. We, the working class, have to adjust and re-adjust our household budgets every time something goes up in price. Or--Why not look at the welfare program? It's been said many times--Welfare should be a tool to "help out"- short term- not a lifestyle. Why should the working class, pay for someone who chooses not to work, for the things we cannot afford for ourselves? Where did we lose our dignity? Or- Why is it so important to have a "State Soda" or "State bug"? Why won't the people we elect into office-- the people we put our trust and confidence in-- "do the right thing" for us?report abuse
