Susan,

Unfortunately things won't just change for the animals.

Not long ago, tin-knockers contracted out Bangor/Brewer were working in Skowhegan. During a lull in work, they were sent to Moosehead to work in a cottage. If you want to call it that. Their contract was over 2 million dollars. Those who can't see it don't know its there.

Just who do you think is going to purchase those developed homes? People in Maine won't beable to afford them. City folks wanting privacy will buy them up like hot cakes. Then signs every 25 feet will say keep out.

Recreation in Mooshead Lake region will change forever. Residents will not beable to afford to live there. The high taxes on those places will change the tax value of Greenville residents.

Plum Creek is only interested in the money. Once their damage to that pristeen territory is done, they will move on.

I recall at one time, Plum Creek wanted to cut down the Redwood trees out west. It made front page news. Native tribes and residents chained themselves to those trees.

Its all about the MONEY! I think Maine government is getting more stupid being hoodwinked and fooling the people into buying into that development.report abuse

I asked my close ME friends a question.
Have you ever climbed Mt. Katadin? Have you ever camped in the Alligash?
Yet they want to save it. From who? From Plum Creek.

We need jobs Suzanne, or nobody will be left here. I appeal to the moonbats, let them build it, cause it will put people to work.report abuse

It always amazes me to read about the future before it happens. How does Susan Zimmerman know who might buy or rent these proposed homes? Has Susan never seen how easily these animals adapt to human presence? Turkeys on the porch rails. Deer and moose browsing on shrubs at the house foundation. Polar bears snoozing on the Alaska pipeline.
Relax – there’s room enough for everyone and the State has spent quite enough money it doesn’t have trying to kill this particular project.report abuse
