Three years ago the BDN did an article on Somerset County centering on Skowhagen.

As many as 25% of all babies born in the community of Skowhagen were born not just out of wedlock,but were welfare babies. If you can not afford to give support your children, DONT have the children in the first place.

The more a community or a state, provides free goodies for the needy,the more needy people you get.report abuse

I feel sorry for the all the children that get christmas gifts each year from local area clubs, but you what there will be many children from the working class that won't have as many toys either. Most of these kid's parent or parents are welfare people, so they don't need all these toys, they need love, someone to listen to their problems and clothes.
Another problems with programs like these are the parent/parents are not happy to recieve from one group but put their name into as many groups as they can.report abuse
