We voted today on whether or not to support our district's consolidation play... and the school board vigorously recommended a NO vote. Why? We lose money in the consolidation process. This disastrous process has also had the side effect of creating distrust and bad feelings among districts that had already been working together to save costs, producing a negative net effect. Sorry, the whole thing has been a disaster from the get go.report abuse

Now I understand why people don't want to run for office anymore - anytime they do their jobs and create legislation - interest groups mount a repeal. Health care, School consolidation. . what's next? I'd like the school board association to suggest another way to save money and try looking at the positive aspects of consolidation - better use of resources, less redundancy and potentially better education options for all students. Pelase - put your energy into making things work, not turning back the clock.report abuse
