That still holds true today, Maine is in the toilet and the nation is following.

During a period from 1855 to 1967, The majority of Maine governor's were republicans, It was during 17 of those 112 years that the governor was a democrat. Since 1967, the only Republican governor Maine had was McKernan who served for 8 years.

In the Presidential election, the democratic candidate each year since 1992. The previous 5 elections Maine was a red state.report abuse

It's tough when a legend dies. Maine saw great days between the Civil War and 1900 when nearly everyone important in the US Government was from Maine.report abuse
