If all of you people out there complaining have not been going to the selectmen's meetings then you should keep quiet until you know what's really happenig in this town. Don't judge just what the newspaper writes, there are always two sides to every story.report abuse

RSVP...Well said !
... the only ones who have the say in the employment of the Town Manager are the town elected officials, the selectmen. Love 'em or hate 'em ...the town voted them in.
Probably the most frustrating thing there is...is to ask a question and never get an answer. It doesn't matter if it is the selectmen asking the town manager...or...the townspeople asking the selectmen. Both are employees of the other. Again , the selectmen have the responsibility to hire and fire with reason...and the townspeople have the opportunity to vote in the people they feel will look out for the best interest of the town.
Too many townspeople sit at home until some controversy arises and then out of the woodwork they come. They should be more involved in "their" town on a regular basis. There would be far less stones cast in both directions if the majority of the people were informed with the truth...and then made their opinions known...not the other way around.
Truth first mudslingers...truth first.report abuse

I am a tax payer of Hartland and I think that Peggy is a very nice person with a hugh heart but I think that her time in office is over. I know that the selectman have asked for items from Peggy for a long time, and are always told that they'll get it later. How can the selectman do their jobs if they are snowballed in a different direction?? And always told that everything is fine when it is evident that it isn't. The town has been able to make 2 payments to SAD 48 since Peggy has gone out on a PAID medical leave, so whatever their doing it must be right. I trust the selectman to do what is best for the town and have faith that they are doing what they would if it was their own money. Instead of everyone being so negetive try to look at the upside..... SAD 48 getting paid.... Peggy getting better.report abuse

smartrthanu I have posted a lot on this article, and have only shared facts, what you are doing is a personal attack, and to me that is caddy and petty. If there is a concern about education, then we need to look at all the selectmen. I do not believe that any of our selectmen have a college education, so for you to stick a personal attack to Mr. Brown, is not okay, shame on you!!!!! If you want to get personal, what is your college education, by the way you spelled in your comment, I would suggest you get further education :) So you don't have to comment back, yes I do have a college education, and am a professional with a high standing career!!!!!! Have a wonderful day!! :) :)report abuse
