Please vote NO on QUESTION 2. Some voters are so desperate for a casino, they would vote for giving Attorney Seth Carey's company (Evergreen Mountain Enterprises, LLC) an exclusive gaming facility license in the state until 2020 at minimum. Commercial tracks would be restricted to slot machines.

Pat LaMarche, representing a Las Vegas developer who has taken a 75% share in Carey’s company, was bold enough to claim in a Press Herald op-ed that at a committee in the legislature will “address” the problems with the legal language in this initiative. However apparently LaMarche knows something House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree doesn’t, because Pingree said there is “no guarantee” of legislative action.

If the legislature fails to take action, we could see a new public law with many flaws while Carey's company blocks anyone else from opening a casino in Maine until 2020 at minimum. Question 2 is a joke put on the ballot by an attorney facing disbarment proceedings. There is no alternative but to vote NO.report abuse

The electric bill that you have to pay every month
goes to Spain. Just another Casino opeation..
How much did the Maine Lawyers make on this deal?
Who are they?
Why doesn't the Blethen Press report this give-away?
The Deregulation of Electricity has been a large
money-maker for lawyers with connections, yet we
are not being told about this deal.
Where does Offer stand on the deal? His silence
is deafening, while we are getting the shaft.report abuse
