1. In case you didn't know nicotine is a naturally occurring POISON in tobacco, in which case you CAN overdose from nicotine poisoning. Also i don't know anyone who has passed out, vomited, or needed to be rushed to the hospital for marijuana use. Overall it is a safer drug then alcohol whether you like to admit it or not.
2. In the event that it was legalized what makes you think that it's going to be grown in everyone's backyard. Many plants grow like wildfire in maine but that doesn't mean that you can walk down the street and see them everywhere you look.
3. Alright if you think that all those things that you listed are worse then a lot of other things police work on, you are either a child molester, wanted for murder, or have a rape victim tied up in your basement.
Now whoever thinks marijuana should not be made legal and drinks alcohol they should probably stop. Considering marijuana is a naturally occurring plant, just like roses, grass, and various other greenery, and all you have to do to prepare it to be usable is grow it and dry it. While alcohol must be manufactured, beer for example, you must grow the hops, get to together all necessary ingredients, yeast etc. and then brew it which takes quite awhile and not to mention a skillful hand and plenty of knowledge.report abuse
1. "It's physically impossible to overdose on THC".
It's also impossible to overdose on cigarettes and Big Macs...doesn't mean it's good for you. The upside of eating 3 Big Macs it that they don't intoxicate you and make you a danger behind the wheel of a car, while moderate THC use has been shown to cause the same loss of fine muscle control as moderate alcohol use, evident through the onset of HGN (horizontal gaze nystagmus) in clinical testing of marijuana use...and since THC content can differ in each plant, there is no consistent way to measure how much THC someone takes in by smoking 1 joint, while alcohol percentage is clearly noted on all alcholic beverages. There is a pill called Marinol that contains set dosages of THC, made for those that claim they smoke pot to ease their pain. No one wants the pill, even though it has the same THC as smoking. Why? Because it's not about legalizing marijuana for medical puropses; it's about trying to find a way to get around the system and take/sell drugs without getting in trouble.
2. "If we legalize marijuana it will also be harder for youth to get a hold of it".
Yeah, it'll be tough to walk out in the back yard and pick a bud off a plant...The stuff grows like wildfire in Maine. The only reason it's harder for those kids to get marijuana now is because no one can buy it in a store or openly grow it. You are making a point against your own argument.
3. "everyone was extremely nice" and "wouldn't it be better if those cops in Starks could be finding more dangerous criminal".
High speed chases, cocaine, pills, and selling drugs to whoever wanders by...and you think the cops should just look away and go after other people. Maybe 20 years ago that festival was about legalizing marijuana. Nowadays it's just about selling any and all drugs to whoever has money, and snubbing your nose at existing laws.report abuse

GOOD POINT!
Peaceful Soul of Farmingdale, ME:
There are several people right in the town of Farmingdale who grow marijuana for dollars, dollars, and more dollars. Yet the funny thing is, they refuse to pay their property taxes, and are continually having their names listed in the town's report for the thousands that they owe.
They're lazy, unemployed or will cheat unemployment benefits for a good part of every year. They're unsanitary, often drunk, & deadbeats that live in near squallor, with yards & land that can easily be defined as, "personal junkyards." To most it's no secret as to who the marijuana growers are in their town, but it's a shame that they can't all be forced out of the area they reside in as easy as Central Maine Power managed to get rid of some. I'm well-informed & aware of certain ongoings in your town, and I know families that have actually been blessed by the upcoming electrical upgrade & the two words, "Imminent Domain," as it's enabled peace of mind knowing that one of the local drunk, tax deadbeat, junkyard, pot growers will be experiencing moving day very shortly.report abuse
