WOW, even in the 3rd world countries of Africa where the scammers call from, they know central Maine is the last place in the USA where dumb Americans will still give out thier bank card numbers.report abuse

I'm with mdenis...no matter how many times police and papers say to never give your credit card number over the phone unless you are ordering something and make the call yourself...people still fall for it. Most of these scams are from overseas, where the feds couldn't touch them even if they traced the calls successfully. So unless everyone finally smartens up, these calls and those bogus "claim your million" e-mails from Nigeria won't end.report abuse

Whats really sad is that so many people, despite warnings all over the place, will fall for the scam!

i myself got one of these calls...i hung up of course but then call the C/U here in oakland...guess what, the teller that answered told me the c/u itself just got one....lmao!report abuse
