my thoughts,
I've been saying for awhile to get ready for the long line, if you think it will stop here with sex offenders think again and will spill over to drunk drivers, shop lifters, druggies, and the list continues.
as of now they got sex offenders which is wrong to single out one out of many, for anyone who thins being molested is worst than losing an arm because of a drunk driver is insane, how about a crack head where did the drugs come from the brain is fried.
how about an arson, come on the list goes on...report abuse

The registry is under scrutiny for being illegal, and potentially is unconstitutional (Ex post facto).
I hate, HATE to say this but I agree with Rocky; if we register one type of felon, or criminal, we must do this to all. Be prepared for a long list.
It just isn’t a useful tool in protecting our citizens. Just because you know where they live doesn’t mean you are protected. And I really take offense to people who make sex crime victims somehow that much more injured than other victims of crime, especially violent crime. You cannot tell me that being stabbed almost to death with a machete is less scarring than being molested. IT ISN’T. A HOME INVASION CAN BE JUST AS INJURING. You can’t tell me that being hit by a drunk driver and losing use of your legs is not as horrible as being molested, because it is. The fact of the matter is, ALL crime has victims, and all crime should be treated the same.
I await the public outcry.report abuse

Well Slave maybe you think the registry is not the "answer". But it is legal, most states have it and it is the best we have for now.
Not ONLY should all the sex offenders be "registered"........so should all the burglars, shop lifters, assault perps, etc.

Well guess what. They are and here is the site to go to. You put in your address (or any address you want to check) and you will be AMAZED at the number of felons within a small area. Right here in Skowhegan. Check it out at:
