Reasonable regulations, allowing banks to loan money as their business, as they see fit, is the answer. Not telling them, through the CRA and Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac, that they have to loan to people who don't have the means to pay it back, is not the answer.
Mark to market, is not the answer.
Giving more money to spendthrifts and give away artists is not the answer. I am glad the deal went down. Now we can think it through and do something that makes sense.report abuse

1. This was after 8 years of Regan and 3 of Bush Senior.
2. Saving and Loan crisis was lead by Neil Bush, GW's younger brother. Niel was later pardoned by his President dad and told to stay out of Wall Street.
3. Fighting a war in the Middle East, again. taking care of them for daddy right GW?
Enough is enough. No to McCnasty and Flalin Palin. America has suffered enough under Regan, Bush 1, Bush 2, Brothers Jeb and Neil and all their buddies. Enron, Halliburton, Exxon etc.report abuse
