I find it very interesting that he talks about tax cuts. The only way he is saving money is by passing school costs back to the local property tax payers and the same thing will happen to jail consolidation in the near future. I'm surprised that the issue wasn't raised during the discussion. Questions such as how he has increased fees and how the "midnight tax" on beverages was passed. He is hiding behind the smoke and screen of the democrat legislators who protect him to the hilt. It is less than whimsical that this paper did not care or did not want to ask the tough questions....He gets a free pass...why is that?report abuse

Baldacci: I think they should be concerned about them. I think the best thing for Mainers is to give their financial adviser a call, whoever is managing their money.

.............

And 34% of my income goes to taxes.

I'm concerned about how THAT money is being managed, Baldy?

Can I expect that you politicians will have some responsibility for THAT money, Baldy?

I didn't think so....report abuse

He's not running for office again because he knows he cannot get elected. Even Democrat friends of mine think he's a miserable failure as governor.

He and Tom Allen can enjoy retirement together. (Or become lobbyists.)report abuse
