Nice guy, but he can't sort out the facts regarding assault weapons, and I have no reason to trust that he won't go to D.C. and vote along party lines on a new assault weapons ban, plus a host of other new laws restricting my right to keep and bear arms.

Is that all? No. I am a conservative and disagree with his views on a number of other issues. Plus, I disagree with the basic premises of the leadership of his Party. I will never support a Democrat for anything but local office, and only then if I know the person and what they stand for.report abuse

The Democrats were going to change our country if they gained control of Congress. They gained control and look and the mess we are in. Pres. Bush cannot take the blame for all of this! Look at the mess we are in at home State level. Bush and the republicans are not to blame for that. Keep putting Demoncrats in office and expect more of the same. Allen's office does not even respond to all of the letters sent to his office or email.report abuse

Tom Allen is not qualified to represent Maine in the U.S. Senate, and I hope voters won't fall for his false promises. Since Tom Allen wanted to go on vacation, instead of working to solve our looming energy crisis, he should go on a permanent vacation from his so-called public service. In fact, since he seems to favor socialism over capitalism, maybe he can find a more appropriate country to live in!

Susan Collins deserves to keep her seat in the Senate. Go Susan Collins!report abuse

Tom Allen is a very nice guy, but his record as a tax-spend liberal should scare any taxpayer who is not looking for a handout to compensate them for some wrong they perceive has been done to them. Let's pressure our more conservative politicians to stand up against the lobbyists and voters who start to whine when not enough government handouts come their way.report abuse
