How come the reporter didn't include decoration and awards too? I am fairly sure some investigation might have revealed a few of those. But those aren't "juicy" enough, not damaging enough to his reputation. Let's only print the negative.
I don't know this trooper personally. It's just not right to see the guy hung out to dry in public by a reporter who seems to have a major axe to grind with this case.report abuse
That's the problem, and it's probably the reason the reporter issued this report.
When someone scratched the trooper's car and he demanded a list of PATIENTS (which obviously cannot be provided due to confidentiality issues), and the Tri-County Mental Health official refused to provide such a list, Trooper Record became UNREASONABLY ANGRY and arrested that official and threatened to arrest everyone else who refused to provide the information when he returned from the arrest later.
Please. Proof that he's a hothead.
I think what the reporter wonders silently in his article is "Was he so hotheaded that when he commanded the Albion resident to drop his gun and the man did not comply, he showed him who's in charge?"
We all know that's the intent behind the article.
When you shoot and kill a man, indeed your prior record comes into question. As it should.
Doesn't mean he wasn't justified in the shooting. But it is certainly reasonable to consider his prior demeanor, particularly if it was consistent, which apparently it was.
You can't fault the reporter for this, though I certainly understand the temptation to do so.report abuse
Yeah, that someone is sometimes them. So I stand off and let the AG do the investigation and go by the outcome. Unless there is some kind of divine knowledge endowed by a superior force that allows people to see exactly what happened miles away from where they are presently. I've never had that power, maybe some people here do.
I do not see where someone not wishing to see the trooper lynched by the mob of public opinion, when they don't have any firsthand knowledge of what happened that night has any relationship to independence, or personal responsibility.
It's being investigated, by competent people. Weren't there? Not in possession of evidence and statements about what happened?
Can't judge a thing until you get decision and explanation from the AG's office. Shouldn't be, anyway. And articles like this simply stir this mud up and cause this strife. Also causes people to begin anew, questioning Trooper Record's actions that night. For nothing... not one single new item or fact was reported in the article.report abuse
