I'm sorry for the problems with illegal dumping, and wish I had a solution to the problem. I guess the issues is one of realizing the problem doesn't originate with the responsible users of the property.

Posting land to keep them out is only going to lessen the opportunity to possible have a witness who may come forward to identify the culprits. The only people there will be the ones who don't care about laws, signs, or even lawful access to the property.

I have volunteered on several projects with the ATV club I belong to to put fences up, signs, and have actively worked to police misconduct by both rogue ATV operators and others who threaten our access. I appreciate the efforts of everyone involved, especially landowners who are under no obligation.

I still do not understand the logic of posting land because of abuse, when the abusers don't care about the signs or laws against illegal dumping.

It would be a help if every ATV operator carries a trash bag or other container and picked up some trash each time they ride. Walking? Likewise.

See someone dumping something? Write down a plate number, description of the car and the person, something, and report it.report abuse
