What happened to all the money from the big rigs that just all had to pay $550 for heavy road use tax that was just due in Sept. as well as the dump trucks that pay like $300??? How many trucks is that on our roads registered in the State of Maine???report abuse

There is a pretty good chance that the workers you see on the paving jobs are NOT state employees. Those jobs are contracted out to private companies. As are a lot of the highway maintenance projectsreport abuse

Being a fair weather motorcycle rider on some of the "main" roads in Maine is quite a challange to say the least. The roads are worst than any I
have seen in any other state.
