mdenis and mike mitchell:

We of course also bear in mind that the VEEP becomes the PRES should the 72-year-old cancer patient become unable to serve.

God help us even more.

We've got an irresponsible, reckless old man potentially leaving an entire country with Sarah Palin as Commander in Chief.

Just when I thought it could never get any worse once GW Bush was elected...oops, I mean bought the position.report abuse

EFitz and mike mitchell, you beat me to it. I just read the story about Palin's attempt to censor the public library. What makes these people think they have the right to determine what others can read, watch, hear?

Down here, the biggest argument is over liquor sales. Conservatives don't want anyone drinking because they don't drink (supposedly). So we have this ridiculous patchwork of prohibition laws where each precinct or ward has different regulations. All because one group deemed themselves important enough to dictate to the rest of us how we should live our lives.

Yup. The best way to increase readership of an objectionable book is to ban it or publicize it as in this case.report abuse

For those out there keeping score:

Lewiston Public Library ~ up $100 (plus 4 extra copies of the book)

Joan Karkos - minus $100 (plus everyone thinks she's an idiot)

Let's hope she goes on tour & visits a library near you! d;-)report abuse
