Senator Collins also agreed that waterboarding is torture but that did not stop her from approving Muskasey nomination.

Senator Collins votes Bush first and her conscience second. That is why she will never be a Maragaret Chase Smith.report abuse

Senator Collins has never taken her "advise and consent" responsibility seriously. She consented to the nomination of Attorneys General Gonzalez and Mukasey, even though they supported the Bush policy on torture. At the same time she claims to be shocked every time a new revelation concerning torture is revealed.

She hides behind, phrases, it is the President's Constitutional responsibility to make appointments. With the Mukasey consent she said she side with a bipartisan support. Only two Democrats on the Judiciary committee voted to approve Muskasey.report abuse
